Journal Ideas

Simple and easy Bible journal ideas! Part 1

It’s so easy and fun to make your Bible Journal, especially if you are a visual person. If it is your first time setting a Bible Journal, to start you just need: your Bible, colored pens, makers/colors, a notebook, post-its,  and all your mind and heart to do it. You don’t have to be a professional artist , just be yourself in adding embellishment to your favorite scriptures and own thinking while you are reading your Bible. Well this is my way to do it, but if you want to explore more ideas, you can go and search on the web and you will find amazing and beautiful ways to do it too.

I have been making my simple and easy Bible Journal for some years, but to be honest, I been changing it and learning through my journey how to set it in different ways, how I can do it better , adding new doodles and pages, getting inspirations from different and amazing women on the web and scrap book ideas. Let me tell you, every Journal is different and personal, we can take ideas but always we have to adapt it to our needs and life style, but the ideas and resources that you can find on the internet are beautiful, the most important is that you decide when to start it.

I have some different ways I like to do it, this way is simple and easy:

1. A notebook with or without lines, it can be hard cover or not, but I prefer the hard covers.

2. Colored pens, so you can choose every day a color, or you can make a rainbow every day on your pages, you choose!

3. Markers or colors, this is so cool because yo can play with both or you can stick to one by using them, you are the boss, you decide what kind of drawings, doodles or art , you can try to be creative, remember what the Bible says about creativity.

Exodus 35:35 New International Version (NIV)
35 He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers—all of them skilled workers and designers.

But if you still feel that you are not so artistic, remember what the Bible says too:

Philippians 4:13 New International Version (NIV)
13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

The process:

a. Choose a Bible passage. ( You can get help on different websites that help you to organize your Bible reading, one of my favorite is Rachel Wojo, you can find her on Pinterest or her website http://www.rachelwojo.com. Explore many options or choose a Bible book for the week, let God guide you to find a scripture. And have at your side all your materials that woul like to use.

b. Take time to put in God’s hand your Bible time and then begin.

c. While reading your passage, begin to underline any word or sentences that stand out to you so you can use it later in your journal.

d. You can take as long as you want to read and meditate on God’s word, then when you finish and feel that is time to begin to write, begin to rewrite Bible scriptures that you want to memorize or just to review after, I always like to rewrite them because that helps me to memorize, then I write what I think about those bible scriptures , and write about people,   places or circumstances of my life related to that, again feel free to write about anything, it is your journal,  or it can be long or short phrases about the passage.
d. Now it is time to decorate,  so I  begin to draw objects related to the scriptures, make doodles all around the pages and color them and have fun.

This is so simple , and I can tell, you will have a lot of joy reading and meditating in God’s word.

This is just one of my ways, next time I will tell you  how I made my Bible Journal 2018 a little different from my old ones.

The pictures you saw belongs to my 2016, 2017 Bible Journals.

With all the love in my heart for You,
